Riducly opens JPG and JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC and HEIF, and JPEG XL images. It can create WebP, AVIF, JPG, PNG and JPEG XL output. HEIC and HEIF are input-only because the app does not include a HEIC encoder, so those photos must be converted to another format. Browser and device support can affect which codecs are available locally.
Lighter favors smaller lossy output, Balanced is designed for everyday use and High quality preserves more detail or uses lossless encoding where the destination supports it. Keep Original size when resolution must not change, or limit the longest side for web, email and previews. A different format is not guaranteed to be smaller: image content and settings determine the final byte size.
Convert several images with the same settings and download the results separately or together. Desktop defaults to on-device processing. Mobile defaults to transient server processing to reduce memory pressure; server files are handled only in memory for the request and are not stored. The processing location can be changed before files are added, and the uploader displays the current guest or account limits.
Use JPG for broadly compatible photographs, PNG for lossless graphics and transparency, WebP for efficient modern web assets, AVIF when strong compression and current browser support are priorities, or JPEG XL for compatible specialist workflows. Converting rebuilds the output from decoded pixels: embedded metadata and animation are not preserved, and transparency survives only in destinations that support an alpha channel.
