How to convert WebP to JPG

Add WebP images to the converter above. JPG is already selected as the destination; choose Lighter, Balanced or High quality and keep the original dimensions or set a maximum side. Convert the batch, review each output size and download the JPG files individually or as one ZIP. You do not need an account to start.

Use JPG for broader compatibility

Current browsers support WebP, but older desktop software, document systems, email workflows and upload forms may still require JPG. Converting creates a conventional photographic file that is easier to open in those environments. Keep the original WebP as well: JPG is a different lossy format and may be larger or show different artifacts depending on the image.

Transparency is not supported by JPG

WebP can contain transparent and semi-transparent pixels, while JPG has no alpha channel. Transparency is therefore removed during conversion and transparent regions are flattened into the encoded image data. Inspect logos, cut-outs and interface graphics before downloading; PNG may be a better destination when transparent backgrounds must remain intact.

Choose JPG quality and dimensions

JPG output is always lossy. Balanced is suitable for general sharing, Lighter favors a smaller file and High quality keeps more decoded detail. Reducing dimensions can have a greater effect than quality alone for email or forms. Neither conversion nor a quality label guarantees an exact byte size, so use the result panel to confirm the actual output.

Still images, metadata and private processing

The converter produces a still JPG from decoded WebP pixels; animation and embedded metadata are not copied. Process multiple files with the same settings and download a ZIP. Desktop defaults to on-device work, while mobile may use transient server processing whose files remain in memory only for the request and are not stored.

Frequently asked questions

Why convert WebP to JPG?
JPG works with a wider range of older software, upload forms, email and document workflows that may not accept WebP.
What happens to WebP transparency?
JPG cannot store transparency. Transparent areas are flattened during conversion, so use PNG instead when an alpha channel must be preserved.
Does Riducly convert animated WebP to JPG?
It creates one still JPG from decoded image pixels. WebP animation, timing and additional frames are not preserved.
Will the JPG be smaller than the WebP?
Not necessarily. Size depends on image content, dimensions and selected quality. The result panel shows the measured JPG size after conversion.
Are converted WebP files stored?
No. Desktop defaults to local processing, and transient server processing keeps files in memory only for the request without storing them.
